  1. Gideon\u2019s shaky self-confidence<\/span><\/i>. Think of poor Gideon who has displayed such shaky self-confidence until now, and is ordered to reduce his fighting force from 22,000 to 300. He must be a little worried at this point…<\/span><\/li>\n

Note the difference between verse 9: \u201cThe LORD said to him, \u201cCome, attack the camp, for I have delivered it into your hands;\u201d and his suggestion in verses 10-11: \u201cAnd if you are afraid to attack, first go down to the camp with your attendant Purah and listen to what they say; after that you will have the courage to attack the camp.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
