  1. The North v. The South<\/span><\/i>. There are a number of interesting parallels between the conquest of the North described here and the \u00a0conquest of the South in chapter 10. Worth taking a look at and comparing.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. All their array<\/span><\/i>. For the first time we hear about the weaponry of the enemy – and it sounds impressive! (v. 4).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Geography lesson<\/span><\/i>. In verses 16-17 you\u2019ll find all the important regional place names of Biblical Israel, just as they might have been taught in a geography class in 1200 BCE.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. War and peace<\/span><\/i>. Why did only the Gibeonites want to secure peace with the Israelites? Why did all the others choose to fight? In verse 20 there\u2019s an answer, which may remind you of the plagues in Egypt (such as Exodus 7:13).
