“And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them [Dothan and Abiram] together with Korah, when that congregation died \u2026. But the sons of Korah didn’t die.” (Numbers 26:10-11)<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The sons of Korah didn\u2019t die, for though<\/span>
\n<\/span>They loved their father, still they understood<\/span>
\n<\/span>The branch which gave them shade and shelter could<\/span>
\n<\/span>Be toppled by a storm. \u00a0They didn\u2019t know<\/span>
\n<\/span>Beforehand that their father\u2019s tree would grow<\/span>
\n<\/span>A bitter, poisoned fruit, or that its wood<\/span>
\n<\/span>Was weaker than a weed; they knew he should<\/span>
\n<\/span>Have chosen truth, not pride\u2019s deceitful glow. <\/span><\/p>\n

Because they didn\u2019t make the same mistake<\/span>
\n<\/span>Their father made but chose to stay above \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\n<\/span>The fray, the sons of Korach didn\u2019t die. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\n<\/span>They understood the need at times to make<\/span>
\n<\/span>A break, to turn away from those you love,<\/span>
\n<\/span>That love can be an open pit. \u00a0And I?<\/span><\/p>\n
