At the end of Numbers, chapter 10, there are two backwards \u201cnun\u2019s\u201d (the Hebrew letter), around two famous verses, dividing the Book of Numbers into 3 sections (until then, these 2 verses and what\u2019s going to come after). We\u2019re used to the Torah the way it is, and when we\u2019re about a third of the way into Numbers, we know we have one and <\/span>\u2154<\/span> more books to go. But a second look reveals that the Torah should have ended right there, with the Children of Israel traveling \u201ca three days\u2019 journey to seek out a resting place for them\u201d (10:33)! <\/span><\/p>\n

This is it!! Right here, would have been the end of the journey!! What happened?<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul Simon sings, \u201cyou know, \u00a0the nearer your destination, the more you\u2019re slip slidin\u2019 away\u201d\u2026 The end of desert travels was so close! But neither the People nor Moses were ready. Fear, anxiety, worry\u2026. before we know it, chapter 11 opens up with complaints, and soon, we\u2019ll have another (almost) 40 years added to our time in the desert. <\/span><\/p>\n

How do we just march ahead, armed with faith and knowledge, of the Divine, without tripping over our own fears?<\/span><\/p>\n
