“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘One prince a day, one prince a day, will bring his offering for the dedication of the Altar.” (Numbers 7:11)

I\u2019ve brought no oxen, cattle, sheep or goats<\/span>
\n<\/span>To sacrifice to You; nor do I bring<\/span>
\n<\/span>Choice offerings of barley, wheat or oats<\/span>
\n<\/span>To burn on altar-fire, while Levites sing. <\/span><\/p>\n

But this I\u2019ve brought for You, my God of Truth:<\/span>
\n<\/span>I sacrificed those former truths that might<\/span>
\n<\/span>Have been my guiding truths and ruled my youth,<\/span>
\n<\/span>My still-warm afternoon, my dusk, my night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps my truth rings false, and all I say<\/span>
\n<\/span>Is wind; perhaps my thoughts are flimsy reeds<\/span>
\n<\/span>That break when touched by wind at end of day;<\/span>
\n<\/span>Perhaps these broken reeds may pierce my deeds.<\/span><\/p>\n

But though my truth may still be flawed, before<\/span>
\n<\/span>Your Truth I bow and sacrifice in
