Behold, I am ready and prepared
\n<\/span>To perform the <\/span>mitzvah<\/span><\/i> of <\/span>sukkah<\/span><\/i>,
\n<\/span>As the Creator commanded me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I will invite to my <\/span>sukkah
\n<\/span><\/i>Seven beggars:
\n<\/span>One blind, one deaf,
\n<\/span>One who stutters, one with a twisted neck,
\n<\/span>One with a hunched back,
\n<\/span>One with no hands,
\n<\/span>One with no feet.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> Be seated, be seated, exalted guests.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I will invite to my <\/span>sukkah
\n<\/span><\/i>The king who wanders without his crown,
\n<\/span>The queen who sits by a sea of blood,
\n<\/span>The king’s only son who has lost his faith,
\n<\/span>The queen’s only daughter who writes on her head kerchief
\n<\/span>With tears, weeping for her golden-haired infant
\n<\/span>Abducted by the winds of the storm.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> Be seated, be seated, holy guests.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I will invite to my <\/span>sukkah
\n<\/span><\/i>The dispersed and the scattered
\n<\/span>Members of the royal court:
\n<\/span>The master of prayer, the warrior, the treasurer,
\n<\/span>The sage, the bard, the king’s faithful friend,
\n<\/span>And the viceroy who spends his life searching
\n<\/span>For a castle of pearl on a mountain of gold.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> Be seated, be seated, faithful guests.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I will invite to my <\/span>sukkah
\n<\/span><\/i>The prince who thinks he is a maidservant’s son,
\n<\/span>The man of the forest whose house stands in the air,
\n<\/span>The emperor’s daughter and the pauper’s wife,
\n<\/span>The merchant and his son,
\n<\/span>The bride and groom who learn to be beggars,
\n<\/span>Who will marry in a pit covered with branches and leaves.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Be seated in the shelter of the sacred Shadow.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

May it please you, most worthy guests,
\n<\/span>To dwell with us
\n<\/span>In our <\/span>sukkah<\/span><\/i> of stories and words
\n<\/span>Even when storm winds blow.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the sake of the Holy One, blessed be He,
\n<\/span>Hidden and unknowable;
\n<\/span>For the sake of the <\/span>Shechinah<\/span><\/i>, whose glory
\n<\/span>Fills the world;
\n<\/span>In the name of all Israel, in reverence and in love,
\n<\/span>Let me play your tunes,
