 <\/p>\n

Into the cauldron, slowly pour
\n<\/span>The sluggish ooze of dark green dragon-blood;
\n<\/span>Urine of sows and shriveled ravens’ wings;
\n<\/span>Dried bat-dung and eyes of a black-winged owl;
\n<\/span>Powdered unicorn horns and warts of toads;
\n<\/span>The bile from swine’s livers; snake-fangs, and weeds from a graveyard;
\n<\/span>Blackthorn; ten tails of yellow scorpions;
\n<\/span>Salamanders’ bladders, bloated, bursting;
\n<\/span>Eight crab-craws, bracken, cobwebs, a python’s scales,
\n<\/span>Toes of a sewer-rat, and the poison of black widow spiders.
\n<\/span>Mix the thick broth slowly while invoking
\n<\/span>The incantations, the maledictions, the execrations
\n<\/span>Of Diabolus, of Lucifer, of Mephistopheles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the hot cauldron gleefully jump
\n<\/span>Purple-winged goblins, red-eyed and lurking;
\n<\/span>Imps with mildew and slime on their fingers;
\n<\/span>Demons, crimson-bodied and drenched with sweat;
\n<\/span>Witches rising and flying in spirals,
\n<\/span>Their skin withered like burnt lizard leather;
\n<\/span>Ghosts and ghouls and smirking fiends,
\n<\/span>A werewolf with thick gray fur that howls at midnight,
\n<\/span>Vampires, trolls, and cloven-footed hobgoblins.<\/span><\/p>\n

But
\n<\/span>Then,
\n<\/span>(Like a remote-control clicker switching off a cartoon video)
\n<\/span>The Torah simply says, “No!”
\n<\/span>And the cauldron’s rich magic brew \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
