I thank You for the basics, Lord: a bed,<\/span>
\n<\/span>A table and a lamp; a clock to tell<\/span>
\n<\/span>the time when infants must be fed; a well<\/span>
\n<\/span>for water and a stove for baking bread.<\/span>
\n<\/span>I thank You for the basics: yellow, red<\/span>
\n<\/span>and blue; the letters that I need to spell<\/span>
\n<\/span>my children’s names; the numbers which expel<\/span>
\n<\/span>a thousand zeros, kindling stars instead. <\/span><\/p>\n

I thank You for the very basic things:<\/span>
\n<\/span>Your Words, which You have interwoven in<\/span>
\n<\/span>the texture of our lives, this cloth You bring<\/span>
\n<\/span>to us, Your people, Israel, who sings<\/span>
\n<\/span>a song of songs and hears Your mandolin;<\/span>
\n<\/span>O God, accept my thanks for
