The wise of heart weave sacred garments and sacral vestment;<\/span><\/p>\n

But I, an unskilled tailor,<\/span><\/p>\n

Did not notice that as the ephod of time unravels,<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no <\/span>tzitzit <\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the tunic of my prayers,<\/span><\/p>\n

Or how the stitches in my linen breeches<\/span><\/p>\n

Have become undone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only now do I see<\/span><\/p>\n

The needle I sew with<\/span><\/p>\n

Has not penetrated any cloth \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

Not the cloth of <\/span>arvit<\/span><\/i>,<\/span><\/p>\n

Of <\/span>minchah<\/span>, <\/span>musaf<\/span>, <\/span>shacharit<\/span><\/em>,<\/span><\/p>\n

The cloth of <\/span>Lecha Dodi<\/span><\/em>,<\/span><\/p>\n

The cloth of <\/span>Shabbat<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the faded fabric of worn-out time,<\/span><\/p>\n

Of wasted moments, hours<\/span><\/p>\n

Of snapped threads,<\/span><\/p>\n

Days of patch on patch, whole years<\/span><\/p>\n

Of tattered rags,<\/span><\/p>\n

Oh, if only five minutes \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

Five fine-woven minutes \u2014 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
