One of the parsha&#8217;s recurring words is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">adanim<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is usually translated as sockets or hinges, but also comes from the same root as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adonai<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of our tradition&#8217;s core names for God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><b>Open<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">God is the doorman, <br \/>\nthe one you don&#8217;t notice<br \/>\nholding the heavy panel<br \/>\nso you can go through.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">God is the hinge <br \/>\nthat swings the door,<br \/>\nthe joint and socket<br \/>\nthat make opening possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">God is the door<br \/>\nthrough which you walk<br \/>\nfrom one chapter<br \/>\nto the next,<br \/>\nadorned with words<br \/>\nthat remind you<br \/>\nwho you are becoming,<br \/>\nwho you really
