\n<\/span>towards the mountain-top lost in a thick fog,
\n<\/span>as if I’d know any better than he.<\/span><\/p>\n

HE<\/strong> What’s going on up there?
\nI shake my head in reply.
\nAfter all our days of waiting,
\nnow he asks me.<\/p>\n

HE<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0Maybe he’s dead.
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Maybe he’s up there forever<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

ME \u00a0\u00a0Well, it’s still the fortieth day, there’s still time,<\/strong>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 the sun’s still hovering above the horizon,<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>on the mountain ridges.<\/span><\/p>\n

A whisper ripples through our camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

No!<\/strong> I scream.
\n<\/span>No! I’ll have no part in your image.<\/strong>
\nThere’s still time for his return;<\/strong>
\nLook \u2013 there’s the sun \u2013 the sun of the fortieth day.<\/strong><\/p>\n
