If Your book is a telephone directory,
\n<\/span>Please don\u2019t cross out my name;
\n<\/span>Print my phone number clearly, and my address, too.
\n<\/span>If my name is misspelled, that\u2019s OK, as long as You know
\n<\/span>Who and where I am.
\n<\/span>If You want, leave me a message, anytime, on my answering-machine;
\n<\/span>I swear I\u2019ll try to call You
\n<\/span>Immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Your book is a small, hand-written address-book,
\n<\/span>Don\u2019t blot out my name, don\u2019t jot down next to it \u2014 \u2018address unknown.\u2019
\n<\/span>If You should wish to write me, I\u2019ll wait for Your letter,
\n<\/span>No matter how long it takes;
\n<\/span>A postcard too is all right; even e-mail;
\n<\/span>Just don\u2019t give me up as lost.
\n<\/span>I swear I\u2019ll try to contact You

And if Your book turns out to be an encyclopedia,
\n<\/span>Or a legal dictionary, or a long historical novel,
\n<\/span>Science-fiction, or a mystery, or even a love story,
\n<\/span>That\u2019s fine, that\u2019s great.
\n<\/span>Just scribble my name down somewhere, even as a foot-note;
\n<\/span>And if You don\u2019t mind, fax me a copy of that page;
\n<\/span>I\u2019ll read it and send You a reply
\n<\/span>Immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite all the mess I\u2019ve made in the past, I\u2019ll try to be better;
