Better men than I deserve a table in
\nYour sacred House, where scribes can sit and write
\nThe letters of Your name each day, each night.
\nI know my flaws are many, and each sin
\nThat I commit has left a stain within
\nMy soul \u2014 a grayish, blackened smear no white
\nRemoves, no bleach will clean; I have no right

But listen to my plea, and turn to me,

\nAnd let me dwell inside these sacred halls.
