When Miriam\u2019s well follows us to the foot of Horev,
\n<\/span>The desolate mountain turns greener than the Nile\u2019s banks
\n<\/span>And purple flowers spread across its towering slopes
\n<\/span>Like a king before his appearance, donning his cloak.<\/span><\/p>\n

The well rises and overflows into twelve streams
\n<\/span>That course like long sapphire fingers through our camp,
\n<\/span>And from the babbling waters we hear Miriam\u2019s song,
\n<\/span>\u201c<\/span>I shall sing to God for He has triumphed\u2026<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The streams surge and overflow, the streams \u2013 rivers,
\n<\/span>And where yesterday we stumbled on the desert rock,
\n<\/span>Now blades of grass caress our soles,
\n<\/span>And the Garden of Sinai blooms like the Garden of Eden.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the rivers\u2019 banks we wash our garments
\n<\/span>And the rivers\u2019 fragrant waters mend torn cloth, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n<\/span>And from the murmuring waters we hear Miriam\u2019s song,
\n<\/span>\u201c<\/span>I shall sing to God<\/span>\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The rivers surge and overflow, the rivers \u2013 a lake.
\n<\/span>I immerse in the pure waters, and wrapped in their silk,
\n<\/span>My bruises and cuts are healed,
\n<\/span>Years of whippings, curses and heartache wash away.<\/span><\/p>\n

Warm waters hold me in their heart,
\n<\/span>Comfort me like my mother\u2019s womb,
\n<\/span>And beneath them, I hear the echo of Miriam\u2019s song,
\n<\/span>\u201c<\/span>I shall sing\u2026.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
