You wake up in the morning and discover you’ve been added to the what’sapp group: “Thusy’s 845th<\/sup> Birthday Celebration Plans.” The extended family, including those lovely Caphtorim and Kisluchim, are looking for an original present for Methuselah’s birthday. “So what do you think,” says one of the aunties, “maybe we should get him a vacation package in Shinar?”<\/p>\n

“No way,” answers one of the young cousins, only 324 years old, “we were there with him just 230 years ago. He’ll be bummed to go back to the same place so soon. Don’t you remember how noisy and annoying that gang of kids was, the ones who were celebrating the 85th<\/sup> birthday of their friend who was just discharged?”<\/p>\n

“I suggest we begin to celebrate his birthdays only on the round number ones, you know, every 50 years,” says the uncle, who hates parties. “Sure, Pops,” his daughter chimes in, “You would say that now, just when we celebrated your 699th<\/sup>.”<\/p>\n

We can’t know if what’sapp groups were part of the divine plan for Creation, but apparently, the blessed God has shown great lovingkindness to us, when he limited the human life span to 120. After all, how many Seinfeld reruns can one person watch in a lifetime?<\/p>\n
