\/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I struggled, yelled and called for help;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">but now, in the pit<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Egypt, after her hands stripped<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the robe from my back, I flee<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">my master\u2019s house and hide<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">among rushes at the river\u2019s edge,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shivering, but not from cold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I utter no call for help \u2013<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who would believe a slave\u2019s word?<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have no confidant, no friend<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to whom I can tell the truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Were my dreams mere childish dreams?<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If caught, will I be killed,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with no stars, no moon, no sun?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alone, I watch black beetles creep<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and scuttle through the undergrowth.<br \/>\n<\/span><span
