\n<\/span>Two grandparents, two pairs<\/span>
\n<\/span>Of frozen, faltering feet.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Jacob\u2019s white hand, with black handkerchief, on Leah\u2019s cheek.<\/span>
\n<\/span>These two grandsons\u2019 graves:<\/span>
\n<\/span>Winter in spring; night in day.<\/span>
\n<\/span>No more early morning bird-song here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here, next to the second pit, the father.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Judah\u2019s eyes: two dots of winter night<\/span>
\n<\/span>Within two shattered egg-shells.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Judah\u2019s feathers, his wings, there, under the stones.<\/span>
\n<\/span>No more morning flight of birds in spring sky.<\/span><\/p>\n

Far below sky, almost under earth,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Bat-shua: a brooding black hen without chicks.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Her nest: two coffins in two graves;<\/span>
\n<\/span>Two shards under two shrouds; two slabs of ice.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Soil and rock. No flowers.<\/span>
\n<\/span>For her: only winter mourning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tamar the bride, double-widow, black winter dove,<\/span>
\n<\/span>On the other side of cemetery,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Apart.<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u201cCan redemption break out, and blossom?\u201d<\/span>
