Now, immediately after being blessed and renamed Yisra’el, and having God reintroduced as El-Shaddai, he renames the place in which all this occurs. God makes clear to Yisra’el, a man of a new essence, that their relationship has a new nature, expressed in the new-old name ‘El-Shaddai’, name of fertility and land, beyond the relationship with God as protector. The nature of this revelation is different from his prophetic dream 20 years before, and the place’s name needs to be infused with a new meaning.<\/span><\/p>\n
P.S.
