We we were tired and scared, and waiting for a razor. The next morning our father would be undergoing major surgery to remove the 9-centimeter cancerous tumor on his kidney, in the very hospital where he trained and worked for over 30 years. After waiting another fifteen minutes mom called down \u201csorry to bother, but the anesthesiologist ordered a razor so Dr. Gitler could shave his beard before surgery, and we have been waiting quite a while. Can you please send one up to our room?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minutes later three female hospital employees show up at the door with a razor and words of hope. The first, I refer to her as Micha\u2019el began \u201cDr. Gitler it has always been such a pleasure working with you here in the hospital, I had to come up and wish you well before your surgery.\u201d The second, Gavri\u2019el remarked \u201cDoc, do you remember me? You operated on my son years ago, greatly improving his hearing. I just wanted to offer you my blessings before the surgery tomorrow.\u201d The third, Repha\u2019el stated \u201cDr. Gitler, five years ago you performed emergency surgery on my throat, here is the razor, you are in my prayers.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We thanked them for the razor, and more importantly for their words of encouragement, and care. The three hospital employees \u00a0angels then went on their way to perform their next miraculous acts and my dad plugged in the razor.
