How does this happen? According to an orderly plan and perfect order. Day after day for six days of creation. \u201cAnd it was evening and it was morning\u2026\u201d Each day, God uses the power of speech to create new things, separate, and make order. Thus, step by step, Chapter 1 describes the world as we know it as a harmonious picture. Light is separated from darkness; the upper waters from the lower waters; the dry land from the sea. Then, on this orderly background, plants sprout, food becomes plentiful, living creatures emerge in the sea, in the air, and on the land, and man is created &#8211; \u201cthe icing on the cake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Points to ponder:<\/p>\n<p>1. \u201cIt is good.\u201d God gives Himself and our world a score ranging from \u201cgood\u201d to \u201cvery good,\u201d which on the biblical scale is the highest mark.<br \/>\n2. \u201cThe image of God.\u201d This very idea and phrase initiate from this chapter (see the explication of this word in the MiliMilim section).<br \/>\n3. Man was created both male and female. One could say that \u201cman\u201d is a family name for two types of humans, equal in all respects.<br \/>\n4. Only one animal is called by name in this story, and this is not without reason.<br \/>\n5. After six days of creation, shabbat comes. Shabbat is an integral part of the story although it appears in Chapter 2 (due to the way chapters were divided by the 13th century Archbishop Stephen
